Electronic Music Review

With Bob Moog as technical editor, EMR published for a few years in the late ’60s. It’s beautifully produced and ¬†academic-looking, but very readable, giving a sense of the times. You’ll find advertisements for luxurious Nonesuch electronic albums, schematics for Moog mixers,

Edition 7 includes a fantastically bitchy Walter Carlos review of Morton Subotnik’s ‘Silver Apples of the Moon’: “a dull peck-peck- peck-peck of sixteenth notes, rhythmically accurate and, as any performer will admit, perfectly deadly.”

Six editions are available to download at ubuweb: http://www.ubu.com/emr/periodicals.html
