Tiny Travelling Modular Synth
Congratulations, you’re on this page because some nice person has lent you a Music Thing Modular Workshop System.
This is what you should do now:
- Play it - for a couple of weeks.
- Share it - photo, video, audio - please tag @musicthingmodular
- Pass it on - to someone who will enjoy it. Do this face-to-face so you can explain it all.
What is this thing? What does it do?

How to get started
- Write your name in the log in the case
- Please DM or email me - I want to see where they’ve got to.
- The green cable pouch contains an international power supply and a USB-C cable: Gently pull the Workshop System out of it’s case and use the USB-C connector on the back to power the system - the one on the Computer Module won’t power the system.
- EASY visual quickstart guide
- Make Your First Patch.
- Read the Quick Start Guide.
- Try The Computer module with the little program cards.
- Watch the Mylar Melodies Demo Video to see what else you can do.
- I love it, can I keep it? No, you can buy a kit from Thonk or ask them to build you one.
What’s in the system?
The case contains:
- The Music Thing Workshop System
- A keyring containing several Program Cards
- Behind the foam at the top of the case, a log book sticker
The pouch contains:
- 8-10 x mono patch cables for patching the synth
- 2 x Yellow right-angle mono 3.5mm to 6.5mm cables = Stompbox module to guitar pedals
